About Our Secondary Rhinoplasty Practice

Updated

In brief

We are an Istanbul practice that focuses on secondary (revision) rhinoplasty. We review every case from photos first, operate only when we expect a real improvement, and follow patients for a year after surgery, including after they return home.

Key points

  • Our work centers on noses that have already had surgery.
  • Every case starts with a free online review of your photos and history.
  • We will tell you when revision is unlikely to help or when waiting is wiser.
  • Aftercare continues remotely for a year after your operation.

We are an Istanbul practice that works almost entirely on noses that have already been operated on. Our patients are mostly international, coming from the UK, Europe, the US and the Gulf, and nearly all of them have had at least one earlier surgery.

What do we do?

We perform secondary rhinoplasty, which means corrective surgery on a nose that has had previous operations. Typical cases include a pinched tip, a pollybeak, an over-resected bridge, asymmetry and breathing that never recovered.

Most revisions combine appearance and function. A nose that looks smaller but cannot move air properly has not been fixed. For that reason we assess the airway and the outline together.

How do we work?

Every case begins with an online review. You send photos and details of your earlier operation over WhatsApp, and our surgeon studies them and replies with a plan and a written quote. The assessment is free.

If you go ahead, we confirm the plan in person before surgery. Revision is not a fixed procedure, so the plan can change once the surgeon examines the nose and the scar tissue in person. We explain any change before you commit.

Our approach rests on a few habits:

  • We rebuild structure before we change shape.
  • We plan the graft source and graft types in advance.
  • We check breathing at every stage of assessment.
  • We keep the plan as simple as the nose allows.

What will we do, and what won’t we do?

We will operate when we can describe what will improve and why. We will also explain what revision cannot do, because some concerns have natural limits set by skin thickness, scarring or how much cartilage remains.

There are things we will not do. We will not promise a perfect nose, because no surgeon can. We will not operate too early in the healing process to satisfy impatience, and we will not recommend surgery when waiting is the safer option.

Revision aims at improvement, not perfection. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.

When we say no

Sometimes the honest answer is that the nose is within a reasonable range, that swelling has not settled yet or that the risk outweighs the gain. We would rather give you that answer than book an operation.

If a different treatment suits you better, we will say so. That can include waiting longer, a non-surgical option or a second opinion nearer home.

What are our values?

We value candor, caution and clarity. Candor means telling you what we see in your photos, including the unwelcome parts. Caution means working at a pace the tissue allows. Clarity means writing down the plan, the quote and what the quote includes.

We also respect your privacy. Your photos and medical details are used for your assessment and care, and they are not published without your consent. The patient photos on this site are shared with the permission of those patients.

How does aftercare work?

Aftercare starts during your stay and continues after you fly home. You usually spend about 10 to 14 days in Istanbul. The splint and stitches come out around day 7 to 10, and we check your nose before you travel.

Once you are home, you send photos over WhatsApp at set points during the first year. Our surgeon reviews them and tells you whether healing looks as expected. The shape keeps refining for 12 to 18 months, with the tip changing last, so patience is part of the process.

If something worries you between check-ins, write to us. Early questions are easier to answer than late ones.

How can you start?

The first step is simple: take photos and tell us what you had done and when. Our process page explains exactly what to send, and the contact page opens a WhatsApp message with your details filled in.

If you prefer to read first, our guide to secondary rhinoplasty covers causes, timing and techniques in depth.

Questions patients ask

Do you only do revision rhinoplasty?

Revision is our main focus, including breathing repair, rebuilding after over-resection and correcting asymmetry or tip problems. We built the practice around these cases because they need more planning and more grafting than a first operation. If your concern is outside what we do well, we will say so.

Will you always recommend surgery?

No. After reviewing your photos and history, we sometimes advise waiting, trying a non-surgical option or leaving the nose as it is. Revision carries more risk than a first operation, so we only suggest it when we expect a clear benefit. You will get our reasoning along with the answer.

Who is your assessment for?

It is for anyone who has had at least one nose operation and is unhappy with the appearance or breathing afterward. You do not need a decision in advance. Sending photos and your operation details costs nothing and does not commit you to surgery.

This page is general information written for patients. It does not replace a consultation or examination, and the right plan for your nose can only be set by a surgeon who has assessed you.
